My best friend

Jasmine was my very first best friend.

We didn’t realise it at the time but we would be torn apart after the first photo & live a seperate but similar lives of domestic & psychological abuse & torment.

We reconnected briefly 20 years later (second photo) Neither of us at this time realised that were victims of family violence.

After 20 more years Jasmine & I have recently re connected & have spoken alot about our lives.

We have acknowledged that none of anything that went on in our lives was our doing.

We have both had psychological therapy to attempt to work through our trauma.

But.. The best therapy has been re connecting with my best friend over the phone.

Our next step is for Jasmine to come to Tasmania so we can really re connect as best friends again.

I am also doing my first talk of 2022 on surviving domestic violence at the ‘Single Steps Annual Cocktail party’ https://facebook.com/events/s/annual-cocktail-party/931692004187986/ & am hoping to fly Jasmine here for that.

I have lived most of my life alone with my trauma, abandoned by most all of my family. So at the age of 41 I am excited to share the load a little.

My advice for anyone out there, dealing with trauma silently is to reach out & if someone reaches out to you.. Reach back.

You are not alone❤️
