my Jiu Jitsu brotherhood

One day soon I am going to write a book & there will be a very long chapter on how martial arts/Trojan Jiu Jitsu has kept me alive & out of depression.

I have been training Jiu Jitsu for 13 years in August 2021, the boys with me in this photograph with have been training for close to 10 years each making it a combined 43 years old being mates.

Without Dan (far left) Izzy (Left) & Sam (Right) I wouldn’t have been able to build the empire that is Trojan Academy.

We have been through births, deaths, marriages, injuries, sickness, breakups, heartbreak, debt, arrests(me) depression & anxiety

But through it all we have shown up to training in summer, autumn, spring, winter, snow, rain, flood, hail, fire & snow.

We turn up every night to embrace each other & fight the hell out of each other.

If you measured all of the blood, sweat & tears we have shed on the mat you would fill a lake.

I am writing this for anyone that is moving through life feeling alone, directionless, aimless or without mates & friends.

My advise to anyone struggling with life is to start martial arts.

The first day is scary as hell.. but the 13th years will take your breath away.

Jiu Jitsu is hard as hell but life is harder..

So you may as well go through hell with mates that can kill people
